Music For the soul
Dr Rucha Sheth.
Dr Rucha Sheth comes from a family with rich heritage of music. Her mother Mrs
Sukeshi Mehta was an All India Radio artist from Amdwad/Baroda Station. Her aunt
Mrs Veena Mehta was a very popular artist known for her pioneering professional
presentations of annual Raas/Garba im Bombay and also for Gujarati Sugam Sangeet..
A lifelong devotee, she began her training in classical Hindustani music at a young age
and continues till present day. And although a physician by profession, she has
maintained her musical talent and dedication to her art with diligent riaz.
Her first album “Bhakti Sarita: Ganesha” was released in 1995.The album was
extremely well received and over 1000 copies were sold. All proceeds were donated to
Chinmaya Mission Houston . Building off this success, she has continued in expanding
her portfolio with albums of devotional music in Hindi and Gujarati, Gujarati sugam sangeet, as well as Sanskrit hymns.
Her live performances have been very well received and have delighted audiences around the country, in Houston, Washington
DC, Pittsburgh to name a few. Her repertoire for these programs includes devotional, light classical, ghazal and quawwali.
